As with all the big internet marketers out there, Jason Fladlien had to start somewhere. No one makes a million overnight, and a lot of people never do, but Jason Fladlien’s story of his internet marketing success is an interesting one.
A lot of people think that when you start out online your going to make a lot of money, in a very short period of time, but in reality, when you don’t know what you’re doing, this is never the case.
In Jason’s case, he never really began to make money until he was a year and a half into his online marketing career.
Early Beginnings
Jason first got into internet marketing in April 2005. At the time he was pretty into hip-hop music as an artist, and was constantly trying to find way to promote himself, and get more people to come to his shows. He tried reading the few books available on music marketing, but he found these to be unhelpful. Soon after this he found himself looking into marketing in general, and was soon hooked.
His first purchase was a book on how to sell using Google ad words, he spent £150 trying to make a sale, and it just didn’t work. But not to be put off by this he kept trying with other methods, never giving up. He tried other things such as affiliate schemes, and again these failed to work.
Working For Small Businesses
Jason then decided to offer his services to small businesses, offering them his marketing skills. However he found that a lot of these were too scared to even try anything marketing wise, but when he mentioned he also built websites, they wrote him a check on the spot. However he didn’t want to be doing websites, he wanted to be doing marketing, that’s where the money is!
Ending up taking a job in painting to support himself, Jason finally found something that worked in his spare time, allowing him to quit his painting job. He set up a article writing site, and soon found himself making $40 an hour ghostwriting.
His Success
This was when he finally got his first taste of success, he spent six hours writing a e book to sell, using the knowledge he had gained from ghost writing, and then sold it at $4 a pop, making $2000 from just six hours work! Jason realized he could make a lot more money from these e books, and produces 8 e books over the next few months, gaining reputation with each one!
